The District Compensation Consultant receives extensive training by the UUA Office of Church Staff Finance and is available to consult with congregations – especially small and midsize congregations – committed to bringing their staff to fair compensation guidelines, to paying their ministers and staff what is "right" and not just what is "left." The District goal is that all our congregations will be able to implement the UUA Guidelines on Ministerial and Church Staff Compensation, as adopted by the General Assembly in 1995. The District considers fair compensation to be a social justice issue.

2006 Salary Recommendations

The fair compensation guidelines of the UUA include new salary recommendations, effective January 1, 2006, for both ministers and non-ordained personnel. Recommendations are based in part on the 2003 Compensation Survey of congregations across the country. Recommended salaries vary according to level of experience, size of congregation, and geographic area of the country. These geographic areas are called Geo-Indices, and congregations in the Metro NY District are in Geo-Index 4 and Geo-Index 5

Guided by our living faith, the Unitarian Universalist District of Metropolitan New York exists to be a source of connection and transformation for our congregations and our larger world.
