Series of
Conversations with congregational leaders
during the year to explore creating and sustaining healthy
congregations. The UU Congregation at Shelter Rock
(Manhasset NY) is host to the first
Conversation on September 10. . . .
The Upper Delaware UU Fellowship (Beach
Lake PA) sold Equal Exchange Fair Trade Coffee at the annual
Riverfest Festival in Narrowsburg NY on July 24th. $4800
raised at the Fellowship’s Walk for Social Justice last fall
was recently distributed to eight local charities. |

Congregation (Freeport NY) and Julianna Morris,
20, from the UU Fellowship at Stony Brook (NY),
are cycling across the United States this summer to raise money and

Assembly Planning Committee
is soliciting applications for significant, innovative programs
for GA 2006 in St. Louis. Start planning now! Applications
are due September 1, 2005, by 5:00 p.m. EST. The Committee
will sponsor up to 15 programs, selecting 10 to receive funding of
$500 each. |

The UUA’s Washington Office for Advocacy seeks applicants
for the position of
Legislative Assistant for Civil Rights and Religious Liberty.
This internship starts on August 29. Applications will be considered
until the position is filled. The goal of the UUA Social Justice
Internship Program is to combine service, learning, and faith
development to produce energetic young adults with the professional
skills and strength of character to be lifelong UU leaders working
for social justice. |

Haffner,

Sexual Morality,
Justice, and Healing,
has just published the
book A Time to Heal:
Protecting Children and
Ministering to Sex
Offenders. Rev.
Haffner has been chosen
by the UU Ministers
Association’s Center
Program as a featured
Center presenter in
2005-2006. She will be
conducting workshops at
UUMA chapters across the
country.
