JOB DESCRIPTION: |
 |
provide piano
music, hymn playing/leading and service
music (as needed) for the two Sunday
services, each from the first Sunday after
Labor Day through the second Sunday in June; |
|
|
accompany
Crossing Chorale rehearsal once a week on
Thursday nights from 7:30 - 9:00, from late
August through mid-June; |
|
|
rehearse with
and accompany musicians for services when
the choir does not sing; |
|
|
work with the
Minister, Director of Music Ministry, and
the Director of Religious Education in area
of general planning of music for services; |
|
|
provide music
for weddings and memorial services, or
assist in securing the services of a
suitable substitute pianist. The Accompanist
has the “right of first refusal” for all
such services. |
|
|
arrange for
suitable substitutes for Sundays when
accompanying duties exceed the skills and
needs of the musicians of the church, to be
determined by the Director of Music
Ministry; |
|
|
supervise, with
the Director of Music Ministry, the
maintenance of the sanctuary piano, and set
policies for its use. |
|
|
|
|
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: |
|
Must be able to play and enjoy playing
wide variety of music - everything from hymns, "classical music" to
show tunes. No church music experience necessary. |
