Delegates

Each congregation that is certified with the UUA is entitled to one member delegate for every 50 members, and no fewer than two member delegates. Settled ministers and credentialed (master level) religious education directors of certified congregations are also entitled to be delegates.

If you would like to be a member delegate for your congregation, talk to your board president/chair. He or she has received materials to name and certify the member delegates for your congregation. The certified list of member delegates must be returned to the District Administrator by April 18.

Delegates check-in at the Annual Meeting at a specially marked table to receive delegate identification.

Each delegate is allowed one vote at the Annual Business Meeting on Saturday. Delegates will vote in the election of District Trustees and members of the District Nominating Committee, and on changes to the District bylaws. Additionally, seven congregations intend to propose adoption by delegates of a resolution against torture.
